Location and Hours

The Capital Area Humane Society is open for adoptions and visitors from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm weekdays and Noon - 5:00 pm Saturday/Sunday.  The Admissions Department is open Thursday through Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) and closes one hour earlier than adoptions.

* Admissions will still serve alternative placement partner organizations and those looking for their lost pet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

** No adoptions are processed the last fifteen minutes of the day.  Holds may be placed.

Animal Cruelty Investigations

9:00 am - 5:00 pm 7 days/week including holidays

Confidential voice mail is available 24 hours a day by calling (614)777-7387 ext. 250.  Please leave the street address, zip code and nearest cross street of the address where the animal is located.  If you have received a communication from a Humane Officer, please follow the directions given.  Phone is the preferred method of communication as our officers are on the road for the majority of their shift.

Please note, the Humane Society is closed on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Click here to view our calendar for more information and specific dates.

Merge onto I-270 West towards Hilliard/Dayton.  Take the Roberts Road Exit (#10).  Turn left onto Roberts Road/CR 28.  At the Intersection of Roberts and Dublin Road, turn left.  Follow Dublin Road until it ends at the traffic light.  Turn left at the light onto Scioto-Darby Creek Road.  Cross over the railroad tracks and turn right onto the first street which is Scioto-Darby Executive Court.  Follow Scioto-Darby Executive Court to the Humane Society building on the left.

From the South:

Merge onto I-270 West towards Indianapolis.  Take the Roberts Road Exit #10.  Turn right onto Roberts Road/CR 28.  At the Intersection of Roberts and Dublin Road, turn left.  Follow Dublin Road North until it ends at the traffic light.  Turn left at the light onto Scioto-Darby Creek Road.  Cross over the railroad tracks and turn right onto the first street which is Scioto-Darby Executive Court.  Follow Scioto-Darby Executive Court to the Humane Society building on the left.

From the East:

Take I-70 West to I-270 North.  Take the Roberts Road Exit #10.  Turn right onto Roberts Road/CR 28.  At the Intersection of Roberts and Dublin Road, turn left.  Follow Dublin Road North until it ends at the traffic light.  Turn left at the light onto Scioto-Darby Creek Road.  Cross over the railroad tracks and turn right onto the first street which is Scioto-Darby Executive Court.  Follow Scioto-Darby Executive Court to the Humane Society building on the left.

From the West:

Take Roberts Road East until it dead ends into Dublin Road.  At the Intersection of Roberts and Dublin Road, turn left.  Follow Dublin Road North until it ends at the traffic light.  Turn left at the light onto Scioto Darby Creek Road.  Cross over the railroad tracks and turn right onto the first street which is Scioto-Darby Executive Court.  Follow Scioto-Darby Executive Court to the Humane Society building on the left.
