August 2012 2: Sixth Annual Defend Your Friend 5k Run/Fun Walk to benefit the Capital Area Humane Society Cruelty Investigations Department, Scioto Audubon Metro Park. 18: National Homeless Animals Day
September 2012 3: Holiday Hours -- Shelter Closed (Labor Day) 27: PAWS: Hilton Columbus/Polaris.
October 2012 Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month National Veterinary Technician Week (October 14-20, 2012) 28: Halloween Pet Parade, Easton Town Center, Noon-2:30pm judging, 2:30pm parade followed by awards.
November 2012 Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week (November 4-10, 2012) 22: Holiday Hours -- Shelter Closed (Thanksgiving Day)
